Clouds-Deadly Dark And Deep
Clouds-Deadly Dark And Deep
The clouds were deadly, dark and deep
Had I really made those promises to keep?
To hell with those miles
I just wanted to go to sleep
The clouds kept growling and howling
Growing bigger and darker
With rains nowhere to be seen
Fate couldn’t have been starker
The soul grew heavier each day
Unable to carry the burden
Of the dark and sinister clouds
Furiously swirling around, fully laden
Grief and melancholy seized every pore
Squeezing and wringing out mercilessly
Till all blood and tears oozed out
Staining the soul completely
A merciless flood looked inevitable
Maybe it was good; I’ll be swept away
Into the nothingness that I came from
Defeated totally; ready for hell’s stairway
Then they came after an eternity, the little storms
Aplenty, in bursts, one after another
And lo! Each one started laboring and toiling
To push, inch by inch, the colossal cloud cover
Little shafts of sunshine pierce thru
A few good clouds stay back and say,
“Hey! There’s a beautiful rain on your way
To wash the stains and tears away!”
The rainbow’s playing hide and seek
Teasing the promises to come out and peep
Tempting me to leap a longer mile
Oh gosh! Why did I ever want to sleep?
