The Devil in me
The Devil in me
What a beautiful, calm night
Can’t be more peaceful than this
Whoever said the night is sinister
Should be shot in broad daylight
Wait! The devils are coming
But not to torment my mind
They want to play with me, tease me
To kick the mind out and occupy that space
For once the devils are welcome
I’ve also become one
I’ve heard only of devil women
What about a devil man?
A lone scooter stutters thru the roads
A car hurriedly scoots towards home
I want to terrorize them off the road
For disturbing my devilish thoughts
The slow sips are playing on my mind
The glass is tipsy in one hand
The fingers burning in the other
Not willing to let go off the fully burnt butt
The impish breeze is trying to trick the heart
Into a tussle with the mind that’s braced up
I want to see who wins this battle
The mind’s devils or the heart’s angels?
The glass is dry, so is the throat
Fingers burn, charring the hallucinations
Dousing the mind and the heart
Tranquilizing them into a dreamless sleep
