Fly, O Caged Bird
Fly, O Caged Bird
A bird born in a cage, tires soon of flapping its wings
For it has never tasted the sweetness of freedom and the joy that soaring brings
Ignorant of the limitless sky and the unbound wind
It remains oblivious to its self-worth and hidden flight skills
It comforts itself in desires that tether it to the earth
And clings to the ground, forgetting the angelic soul it received at birth
I wish it flies once to the heights of panoramic views,
Plays with the floating clouds and stars of shiny hues
May its wings touch for once, the realms of ethereal heights
Where it knows that flight isn't an illness and never settles for a caged life!
