The Unfading Sun
The Unfading Sun
Every night, as we close our eyes to sleep,
Hoping to awaken when morning takes its leap,
We anticipate the sun's bold and radiant rise,
With the air embracing our breath, a gentle prize.
Birds serenade, their melodies in the air,
As the world unfolds its story, beyond compare.
Yet, little do we grasp, it slowly slips away,
As the sun's glow diminishes, day by day.
Our ageing bodies, with vision slightly blurred,
Carry the wisdom of light, in every word.
Will you let darkness conquer this precious light?
Or nurture it, like a sun, shining ever bright?
So you can rest assured when night draws near,
That the world will awaken, and light will always appear.
