Locked in a jar
Locked in a jar
Thousands of jars kept on the shelf,
All in varied sizes and forms.
Some contained typhoons and cyclones,
Some had mist and storms.
I gazed down at a particular jar,
Tapered with an oval base.
It was draped by fabric so dull,
And especially hidden behind a case.
I uncovered it and saw something out of the blue,
It was empty, unlike the others on the stand.
I carefully examined it and picked it up,
Feeling the considerable bulk in my hand.
My curious fingers unleashed the lid,
Azure fog came out in a burst.
All was a blur but as soon as I opened my eyes,
What I saw wasn’t anticipated, I expected much worse!
My eyes glanced around through hues of blue,
I saw a hall just like my hostel’s mess.
But everything was just the opposite,
A parallel universe, I guess.
