Mother
Mother
Those eyes have a glimmer brighter than starlight,
Her scars a story of an unending fight
She has a delusional desire to see her child smile,
I want her forever, not for just this ephemeral while.
How can one sacrifice her joy for the happiness of another,
Facing all odds, how can she still be the perfect mother?
Why does she always take so much pain,
If we grow up to disrespect her, and all her efforts go in vain?
Have we ever appreciated what she does for us each day?
We hesitate to hug her, but we can write long paragraphs for our bae
You might have awesome friends, who're now just memories from the past
And then you have your mother, who'll be with you till she breathes her last.
