New Best Friend

Laying down on her side of the footpath, where a few other homeless lay...

The little girl looked up at the star-filled sky,

With a belly full of food, finished up for the day.

"Thank you, Corona," she said with an innocent smile, looking up at the starry sky.

Not knowing who this Corona really was.

All she knew, was how lucky on this day she was!

For it was after the Pandemic outbreak, 

That people noticed her hunger, was no mistake.

Walking around the streets, with no food to eat...

Eyes full of hope to find humanity, if ever there may be...

People now came to her with food themselves.

She didn't have to eat from trashes and leftovers anymore...

She had asked them "What changed?" 

All they said was "Corona, the Pandemic outbreak"

And that's how...

Pandemic became her new best friend!
