The Only Words I Have To Say

I have been saying this from decades every day

But it seems my words fall on deaf ears- whenever I say

To whom should I say, when I am the only one you prey

I know you know but you still act as if you do not know, so what can I say

You believe it hurts only me and not you but that belief is wrong anyway

Know this, it hurts equally both you and me in every possible way

Once you ignite me, then try to extinguish me for many nights and you fail

You erase me- the wild-forests and then expect me to bring you much needed rain

You burn down whatever comes in your way- God knows not for what

Your thoughtless acts, melts me at the speedy speed at which it should have not

I the glacier-ice once start to melt you then expect me to halt flooding that I cannot

You damage me, your environment in all possible ways but halt your greed I cannot

There will be a day when I will stop saying what I have to say

Instead of waiting for that day when rain will no more rain like rain

I pray, you do wear a hearing aid and listen to me today to what I have to say

Get your act together and act fast to save mother Earth with much needed change

Else climate change will change your life into something you cannot change

Stop hurting yourself by hurting me– These are the only words I have to say
