Who is my Best Friend
Who is my Best Friend
Each of us have friends- one or more
Some make friends easily some not- so what
Each of us is always in need of a friend
Friends hold keys- size and shape nevertheless differ
Keys to unlock doors within us, some sweet some bitter
Our nature, fonds and dislikes they know even better
Some unlock hidden secrets and open our pandora box
Some unlock the joker quietly sitting within us
Some unlock the child forgotten within us
Some unlock the mischief-maker calm within us
Some unlock our heart some our love frozen within us
Some unlock the doors to let laughter run free
Some unlock the doors and let hurt spill free
Some friends meet frequently, some love each other dearly
Some meet sparingly but care for each other tenderly
Some oldest like childhood friends, some newest as if they were meant
They are the first to cheer when cheering is essential
And are the ones to guide too when guidance is vital
Pushes us towards the path that is progressive for us
But pulls us away from acts that may eventually hurt us
True friends, call spade the spade, do not mince their words
But stick with you in your hardest times like glue
If I am asked - Who is my best friend?
I just cannot single out one as the best
For each one is different and uniquely favorites'
And that includes me-myself
Yes, I believe, I too am my best friend for live and after.
