Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve

It was Christmas Eve and Ria was feeling restless. She had been waiting for this day for a long time, ever since she saw the beautiful decorations and lights in the mall. She had asked her parents for a new dress, a doll, and a cake for Christmas. She hoped that Santa Claus would bring them all to her.

She had written a letter to Santa and left it under the pillow, along with a glass of milk and some cookies. She had also hung a stocking on the window, hoping that it would be filled with goodies. She had heard from her friends that Santa came at night, when everyone was asleep, and delivered the gifts.

She wanted to see Santa for herself, so she decided to stay awake and wait for him. She pretended to sleep when her parents came to tuck her in, and then sneaked out of her bed when they left. She hid behind the sofa in the living room, where she could see the Christmas tree and the fireplace.

She waited and waited, but there was no sign of Santa. She started to feel sleepy, but she resisted the urge to close her eyes. She wondered if Santa was real, or if he was just a story that her parents told her. She felt a pang of disappointment and sadness.

Suddenly, she heard a soft thud on the roof. She perked up and listened carefully. She heard some jingling sounds, like bells, and then some footsteps. She gasped as she saw a pair of black boots coming down the chimney. She rubbed her eyes to make sure she was not dreaming.

She saw a man dressed in a red suit, with a white beard and a big belly. He was carrying a large sack over his shoulder. He looked around the room and smiled. He was Santa Claus!

He walked towards the Christmas tree and took out some presents from his sack. He placed them under the tree, with tags that had Ria's name on them. He then noticed the glass of milk and the cookies on the table. He picked them up and ate them with a loud gulp. He wiped his mouth with his sleeve and winked at the camera that Ria's parents had set up.

He then saw the stocking on the window and reached into his sack again. He pulled out a small box and put it inside the stocking. He then looked around the room and nodded with satisfaction. He had delivered all the gifts.

He walked back to the fireplace and prepared to leave. He looked at his watch and realized that he had to hurry. He had many more houses to visit. He whispered "Ho ho ho" and climbed up the chimney.

Ria was amazed by what she had seen. She could not believe that Santa was real and that he had come to her house. She felt a surge of joy and gratitude. She wanted to thank him and hug him, but she knew that he was gone. She decided to write him another letter and tell him how much she appreciated his gifts.

She ran to her room and grabbed a pen and a paper. She wrote:

"Dear Santa,

Thank you so much for the wonderful gifts. You are the best! I love the dress, the doll, and the cake. They are exactly what I wanted. You are very kind and generous. I hope you had a good time at my house. I left some milk and cookies for you. I hope you like them. I also hung a stocking on the window. I wonder what you put inside it. I can't wait to open it tomorrow.

I am very happy that you are real. I always believed in you, even when some of my friends said that you were not. You are amazing and magical. You make Christmas special for me and for many other children. Thank you for spreading joy and happiness.

I love you, Santa. Merry Christmas!

Your friend,

Ria"

She folded the letter and put it under her pillow. She then ran to the living room and looked at the gifts under the tree. She felt a warm glow in her heart. She knew that tomorrow would be the best day ever.

She went back to her bed and snuggled under the blanket. She closed her eyes and fell asleep, dreaming of Santa and his reindeer.
