Finally, Married!! - Part 16
Her ever curious friends noted her avoiding them but brushed it aside as nerves before
the wedding. Priyanka however was busy selecting the ideal person to float her plan.
She zeroed on her former school Principal who was an advocate of safe defecation
practices even before the launch of the scheme.
That very day she found an opportunity to talk to him at lunch break since the school
was locked after lunch due to poor attendance. The boys usually worked in the fields
while girls did household chores post lunch. Lunch was eagerly awaited as it was a free
meal.
“Good Afternoon Principalji. How are you Sir? “
“Good Afternoon Priyanka. I’m fine. So tell me what I can do for you?” his shrewd gaze
disconcerted her but she held her ground.
“Sir you must know my father had arranged my marriage.”
“Yes of course. Congratulations.”
“I recently came to know my in-laws’ house doesn’t have a toilet in place and I’m really
not sure who to approach in taking this matter further up. I came here to seek your
help.”
He looked at her sharply and asked the only question she dreaded to answer “So why
didn’t you talk to your parents? They are very reasonable people and they could’ve
approached the groom’s side.”
