It also peeved her that their loan repayment was somehow being imposed on them. But on the positive side, Harish treated her just right instead of patronizing her which warmed her heart.
“Thank you Harishgaaru for being open with me. My parents don’t know I’m here and I would like to keep it that way. It is our custom to get new clothes for the groom’s side so we can’t do much there even if you deny it. About the cot, well father already ordered it from the carpenter. Now I can understand why your father asked for the money. So I’ll then meet you later.”
Just when she turned to go away Harish prompted with a, “When?”
“Wha...What?”
“You said you’ll meet me later. So I wanted to know when.”
