Moon’s Shadow

Chapter Akuji:

When I was young, I lived with my parents who were not so kind to me even though they are where heroes themselves. They owned a hero placement called Shadow Squad; it was one of the higher hero placements in Australia but possibly the very best placement to be known around the world. We call these hero placements because of the type of heroes we want to be, and their so-called power known as DIN'S also known as Dominated In powered Non-humans basically people with power, but it makes no difference because of a certain disease that killed a lot of people back a thousand years ago in our history. The disease was known as Death because of how it attacked the lungs and made people have fever like symptoms, but slowly kill them if untreated. In the end it did get cured, with having to wear masks and washing our hands but that's what we thought when a mysterious person who come to people with death transformed them. No one knew the name of this person that somehow transformed the death into a different organism that brought back life into the dead, but these people didn't just come alive they also obtain power and each person who had death after that had at least obtained a power. This went worldwide as most of the population of people ended up getting death than getting a power through it.

Now back to today where I am a Villain known as Black Moon, I am known that because of the DIN'S that I have called black decay and because of the way I will bring light into the darkness of our stupid society. How can anyone be happy with our society that only causes pain and suffering through what they call judgement. What judgement of Higher leaders of power call out people of weak status or power be called slaves then the people who have good powers that they see as good should be called heroes. Then the ones with too much power should be called villains because they have a certain DIN'S that has a higher or different power setting as others should be thrown into jail? This society is to scared to accept everyone, no they want to judge us for that but the others who have higher power who are in a good line like royals or Higher leaders of power should be accepted and be able to be heroes while the rest of us suffer. It's not right and all I want to do is change that, make a world equal for all with no judgment of their DIN'S. But I am yet to start my placement, I am slowly gathering members for it, so far I got my teacher Michael, who was sinned and judged for having a gruesome DIN'S he managed to get away back then because of it and thankfully took in me and another whose name is Guro who was judged for having a DIN'S around Teleportation and portals, he barely escaped with his life but he had the help of his parents who were killed in the process for helping him escape. Michael took Guro in when he was young, where Guro had nowhere to go or live when he was a wanted child by the heroes then me later in their lives as where I ran away from my family had nowhere to even go.

We also recently got a trusted ally, his name is Jackson, he is a trade and dealer in the black market and other trades of the sort. Jackson was despised by his DIN'S that revolves around an ancient person in the day who had wide world knowledge, but he is very smart and wise also a bit if a jackass, but we get use to him, sometimes.

Jackson is also our main person of operation where he is trying to gather more people like us who may like our terms and ways, and also have been possible out casts. But it wasn't going to be easy to even find people like us as in Australia we had more rules and restrictions than other countries around the world, plus more heroes who are top notch when it comes to stopping us villains. Though we didn't need to fear as long as we stayed low and not get caught by them then we will be safe, but it was now a question of action, and how we are going to be willing to make our placement known was the question. One of our ideas was maybe breaking into a jail and set some prisoners free but that was going to be a very hard feet to do with just the three of us. My idea was maybe breaking into the most known hero school in the world in fact the best hero school know as T.H.A also known for Training Hero Association. This is the placement where heroes are trained to be heroes but their defence may be hard to get around. Most of agree our would be hard to get our placement on the map or noticed but Jackson, we should play it safe and wait till he can gather members for us. We all agreed on that and went our separate ways, so we don't gain any attention from heroes.

I go to walk by myself to go to a favourite cafe that is in town a bit, but it is quiet and the coffee and food there is enjoyable. Plus, no heroes go in there nor do a lot a people go in there, so I find it save to go get a nice cheap coffee and food. I enter the cafe and the owner gives me a warm welcome as I am a regular there for some reason this time the cafe was filled to the brim of people, I feared I wouldn't have a seat. But the owner said there is one spot left he had to ask the person who was sitting at the table, I nod and let him do his job. The person he questioned was a male with long brown hair, he wore normal causal clothing, the man smiled and nodded as he looked over to me offering the sit on the other side to him, I quietly nodded as a thank you and took the sit. The owner asks if I just wanted my usual and I said yes then the owner went on his way. The man to the other side of me seemed to be quiet as he enjoyed his coffee, he seemed to have caught me staring at him he smiled.

"What brings you to this nice cafe today other than a coffee and food?" He asked his voice was soft as he spoke it felt like I could melt in his voice.

"I am here to just have some quiet time to myself, but it seems today is busier than usual" I answer him kinda quietly.

"Oh, this place is normally quiet isn't, yes I agree in fact that's why I am here too but so many people that finding that peace is kind of hard. Say are you a hero or a normal? I never seen you around before" he questions me as he looks at me

"I am a normal that's probably why" I say as a white lie because I can't say I am a villain. "What about you?" I question back

"I am a hero, in training" he answers me but the look on his face seemed to question me as if he didn't even believe about me being a normal, but I shrug it off.

The owner finally gave me my usual latte and a nice chicken wrap that they make. I thank the owner and slowly sipped on my coffee.

"Mind if I ask for your name?" He questions as he seemed to look at his digital hero programmed watch

"Uh Amy" I lie. "What about you?"

"Joshua" he answers me truthfully, again he gave me a look that seemed to have read my mind, like he didn't believe that Amy was my name.

"Amy, you know that running is a crime and you do also realise that creating a rebellion will break you?" He asked me as he looked at me seriously 

I looked at him plain faced as possible, but mentally I was freaking out did he have some higher power and he is a hero in training? I question myself.

"I don't understand what you mean that would be a stupid idea to try to do something like that, I would be thrown in jail without a second thought" I answer him in the coolest and calmest way possible 

He seemed to smile at my calmness, he then gives me a piece of paper. "Tell me the truth" he tapped on the piece of paper as though quietly demanding me. I look at the piece of paper the the top could easily read 'I know your lying to me villain, so I suggest you quietly write down what you're planning or go to jail now' I looked up at him almost worried with panic. He didn't say a word but looked at me with his crimson red eyes and taped the paper, he also threatened me with cuffs he had on him. I shake as I sip a bit of my coffee and grab a pen quietly wrote down what we plan to do at the moment. He took the paper as soon as I put down the pen, he looked at it reading it, then sometime after he looked at me. He took my drinking hand and looked at me cruelly with his red eyes.

"Tell me why I shouldn't cuff you right now and stop your plan from happening then let you do it?" He whispered low but darkly into my ear intimidatingly.

I shiver with a slightly tint of fear. "Because- if- if we don't do this idea or speak up for some rights for something more peaceful then this world will fall eventually into the hands of hate, so I plan to stop this injustice that we face every day" I answer him in a quiet whisper.

He nodded and let me go. "Then I will let you go" he says as he takes the last sip of his coffee, he also packs his paperwork quietly into his bag before he left the cafe.

I sat there in confusion for a while as I ate my wrap and drank my coffee, I couldn't help but think why this hero would let me go no, no hero does that but why him. How could he tell I was easily lying, what was his DIN'S, could he read minds. I seem to question when I quickly remembered who he was. Wait! Joshua, the Joshua! All knew and favoured the most the hero how is the most popular yet admiring hero! Wait- what- why- huh! Now I was confused what just happened just now?! This can't be real...... 

My mind went blank, and I pinched my hard enough that I knew I wasn't dreaming, holy- damn I didn't this would happen in a million years. What should I do? I mean I know he said he would let me go but- doesn't mean I can trust him.

Okay first I need to calm down and not tell the others other they will go nuts no I should tell them anyway because I can even be what happened just now is real, but it is. Later after I left the cafe, I walk my way around until I got to my place, I get a knock on my door, I answer it curious who it may be.

*No! Hell no! Lier! He can be here! * My mind thought in a panic as I saw Joshua there standing with a wheel borrow full of chocolates to sell. He smiled as he looked at me.

"Hello, would you be interested in buying some chocolates to save up for a fair that's happening next month?" He asked warmly.

I blinked as I look at him. "Uh sure" I say even though I don't like the fair's that happen every year, but I got the chocolates because they were cheap.

He smiled as I choose certain chocolates and handed him the money, he grabbed my hand. He looks at me with a light smile.

"Well, we meet again- what was your name?" Joshua asks as he looks at me

He didn't seem the type to forget a name. "Uh-" before I could say the fake alias, I was going to use he quiets me. "I mean your real name" he said as he glares at me with his eyes seeming to peer into me like he could see through me. I nod as he takes his hand away from my mouth.

"Akuji" I answer truthfully this time

Joshua smiled happily, he bows and kisses my hand. "It's nice to meet you Akuji hopefully we can become friends and not enemies" he says as he smirks

"Uh actually um it's nice to meet you too but- why are you being nice and leaving me be like aren't you-" he paused me before I could finish my sentence.

"It's because in some way me and you have the same values in mind despite how different you are I want to support you, even though I can't ignore you are a villain, but some are need in a world like this. But you do realise lives will be taken if you follow through with this because it won't be easy to just talk it out" he says as he questions me

"Yes, I do, and I do like it either but what else can we do we can't just sit on the sidelines and let this judgement continue" I say as I look down 

He lifts my head, "Then every will eventually work out" he smiles one last time before he waved and left with a certain sadness on his face, I watch him curiously before going back inside and question confused.

Later that night Michael, Guro, Jackson and I had a meet up to talk about things and plans, Jackson says we got a potential person who want to join, and I tell him to the next meeting. After everyone had some say to what to do next, I told everyone what happened today with the hero Joshua. Everyone's faces went as pale as a ghost, they then question me quite quickly. I pause them and tell them everything that happened in detail and said myself that even I couldn't believe it was real, but it was very real. The crew went silent for a moment.

"Can we trust him?" Jackson spoke after breaking some silence 

"I don't know" I answer truthfully 

"Let's trust him for now" Michael says calmly 

"We can't be seriously trusting an all-time hero" Guro says a bit loud want to make an argument

"Michael is right Guro let's just trust him for now cause if we don't, we could risk our leader taken away from us" Jackson says looking at me

I rub the back of my neck not used to being the leader yet and I nod quietly in agreement. "Yes, I agree sorry Guro but trust me if anything happens to us it's my fault for trusting a hero okay" I pat his head caring 

Guro nods his head and pouts a bit because he kinda hates it when I take the blame, but he knows I mean well, and I know he also means well. With all of us in a agreement we go back to our homes. Guro runs to me and tugs me.

"Just promise you will always be our leader no matter what even if you get caught don't let those heroes change you, okay?" He says as he slightly pouts

I pat his head, "Promise, now go home" I say then I leave

Guro nods and runs off to his home. I walk back into my place sighing lightly. I went to change into my night wear then lay on my bed with a big sigh. I couldn't help but feel the tremendous weight and responsibility I had to do for the crew but still it's what I need to do and love being their leader no matter the cost. Though now with the added pressure of a hero knowing our plan I begin to wonder with fear, as much as I tried to ease my mind I couldn't, but I also felt a little relaxed whenever I remember his smile. I wondered why today's events happened but for as far as I know I couldn't tell why.

Chapter Joshua: 

I am your usual hero the type of normal but popular hero that I am a part of a royal family that's been very popular since the start of time when heroes started. My family is known as the symbol of light and our placement is called heroes of peace. Because of our placement it means we have to follow every rule that the Higher leaders of power have given to make it fair for everyone but how can we call these rules fair? Sometimes I wonder what happened with our society over time. 

I am also a descendent of the one who started the DINS through the death. I know this because my parents have known this, and through our family history they can prove that. They would also tell me stories about the man who had given powers to people back in the day. Though I can't say too much as it is a secret of what kind of person this was, and we have to keep our power secret because any kind of evil can control us to use it but we must use it for ourselves for our own heart. I only plan to use my power to bring true peace among us, the kinda where we won't have to judge or criticise anyone.

Which brings me to my DIN'S that is called miracle, because of over time this DINS has collected other DINS through the one having children. Think of it as like an inheritance that you get from a passing loved one. It like the child gets the DIN'S that their parents had then pasts it down over time which the miracle keeps and builds up those DIN'S. I have all the DIN'S that my past ancestors have been born with even though they started with a few and more throughout time. Now I have it at its most confined form, though I still need to be careful and mindful of my goal.

Now moving on I am going to introduce myself; my name is Joshua; my hero's name is Miracle based off my DIN'S and because I am going to make a miracle that will change this society. I do hate that so many people get judged the moment their DIN'S is founded. Where I think we should be treated equal no matter our race, gender, skin colour or even by our DIN'S. I guess in a lot of ways it's why I let Akuji go even though she is a villain on the run like most villains, but she is different and share my values as well. I guess that's the only reason I ever smiled in front of her cause she is very open minded and a calm individual. I don't really smile in front of others because I can tell what they are thinking, well that and I can read their minds whenever I want, I just choose not to because of people's body language. I can read anyone like a book that way, just one look and I can tell they are judging me or appreciate me. But I truly hate this society with their sickening use of people and heroes.

Anyway, on to school, yes, I go to the THA which is a pretty good school. Most of my lessons are easy like English, math and so on. The only physical we get to do is training our DIN'S which is something I don't have to do as my DIN'S is powerful beyond belief. The next is P.E and torments or festivals that happen every two months. In fact, a festival is happening in the next two weeks which is why I been skipping school doing fund raisers and spending time out of school away from the rest of my peers to relax by myself. Like today I have been going out doing fund raisers, the teachers and principal seem not to mind since I am always on top of my classes no matter the situation. There are a few students that are like me as well, and yes, I do have friends at school, but I seem to want to know Akuji more and her little group. But it seems she doesn't trust me just, yet which is fine if you want to be a villain you got to be cautious and careful which is fine with me. Though I would like it if she gave me some edge to let me in, because I like to try to be friends. 

Anyway, back to what I was doing, ah yeah that's right doing the fundraiser. I continue to walk around to each house as I got into the lower back ways of the city. I noticed some people were bullying a girl, laughing at her picking on her, shoving her and laughing at her. I get closer when I noticed it was Akuji getting bullied by a bunch of punks that were total ass holes. I slightly watch as a few guys pick on her weakness and pick on her because she is afraid to fight back. I get mad very quickly and kick down the guy that was leading them on into the ground knocking him out. My red eyes glare at every other punk that is surrounding her with intimidation like I was ready to smash them into the ground with my bare hands or feet as well as I did with their leader. That freaks out the punks and they back away then quickly apologising then running away because I frighten them. I looked at Akuji with calm eyes, I see that she is shaking a little scared though she looks at me calmly. 

"Are you alright?" I ask her

She nods as she looks up at me, "I am fine" she answers quietly. 

I smile seeing that she is okay, I nod thinking I should leave.

"Uh wait could I buy some of those chocolates, and Um are you going to be at the cafe today?" Akuji asks me quiet seeming nervous.

I look at her, "Sure of course and maybe, I only go there a few times when I want to have some alone time unless- you want me to go?" I ask her

"Uh um no- not unless you want to just be asking is all" she says as she buys some chocolates from me looking away.

Something about her reaction seemed a bit off, Mhm she was harder to read than most as her body language is a little different, "Just say so and I will come, if you want to chat fine with me" I say as I give her a calm look.

"Oh uh, could you come today, later? If possible, I would like to talk to you" she says a bit quietly.

"Alright give me a few hours till I finish this, and I will meet you at the cafe and we can grab a coffee" I say as I smile a bit.

"Okay then, I will see you a few hours from now" she says with a bit of a smile then she walks off.

I then continue through my rounds over the next couple of hours. I huff when I finish and make my way to the cafe kinda excited to see Akuji, not sure why I feel this way but still I was excited. When I entered the cafe, I see Akuji sitting at a table far away and I went to sit on the other side of her. She noticed me walking towards her and sitting down, "Uh want a coffee?" She asks me

"Sure, I can buy" I say as I wave a waiter so I can order.

"Oh, you don't have to I can pay for my own" she says a bit normally

"No, I don't mind" I say smiling 

The waiter came over and got our orders, then I paid for our drinks and then the waiter left to get them done. 

"So, what was is it that you wanted to talk about?" I asked her as I wanted to know what was on her mind.

"I wanted to talk to you about somethings" she says seriously as she looks at me. "I wanted to know how much I can trust you?" She asks me.

"That is up to you, but why ask?" I question her

"Well because I want to trust you, and maybe you could potentially help us" she says a bit quietly.

I look at her a moment as I couldn't help but read her thoughts and I relax knowing they are good intentions.

"Well, I could try my best, but I am a hero to you know" I comment

"Okay then my next question is how much do you know about America?" She asks me 

"Mhm a few things their rules are more relaxed, and their prisons aren't always that well, because crime rate over there is very high, why do you ask?" I ask her to see there is more to why she was asking me.

"Because we plan to go there, but we are not too sure how to get there without the heroes knowing" she says.

Our coffee gets served by the waiter; we both say our thanks then continue the conversation.

"I see, I could immigrate you all there on a boat, but I need some time to set out the proper precautions" I say with a bit of thought.

"Really? Uh thank you" she says a bit quietly and takes a sip of her coffee 

"No problem just one thing, I want all your social accounts and your phone number" I say as I give her a piece of paper.

"Uh okay" she says shyly and writes down her information.

She gives me the paper and pen back, "Alright I will contact you through these so we can remain in contact after you are in America" I say as I smile lightly. 

"Okay cool, so I guess we should know each other a little, so what should we talk about?" She asks seeming not well at conversation.

"How about a question game" I suggest as I would like to know about her as well.

She ended up agreeing and we gave each other questions about one other that it ended up taking us about two hours just having one conversation after the other. I actually smiled as we talked, enjoying the conversations and questions, Akuji seemed to also smile and became relaxed around me and no longer shy. I was quite happy when she finally relaxes around me, I get a sudden message for my assistance with a disturbance in the city. 

"Sorry I have to go" I say to her.

"It's alright I guess I will see you around then" she says as she smiles to leave as well. 

I nod then go out and run to where the disturbance is. 

It seems it was a bunch of slaves that were fighting because they were angry about the placement that they were put under, and they were fighting a pro hero very much known for using slaves unfairly. I kinda get angry and annoyed at the pro hero known as Frel. Frel is the second most popular hero compared to my father, his family is known as the royal family of fire barrage. They are known this because all their family members and members of their own have at least fire as their element of DIN'S. But recently we have been seeing some people with combinations of DINS for example his son, Morry. Morry has a combination of both lighting and fire, as his DIN'S, I also know Morry as a friend in class. I also know that Frel had beaten Morry as a child to get him stronger than the number one hero, which is impossible if Morry ever hoped to beat me or my father which he would need more DIN'S than I have. Which is a lot so it would be difficult to beat us, even though I say that I can't beat every person with a DIN'S.

Back to the matter at hand, these bunch of slaves are sick and tired of the way Frel treats them, so they started a riot and caused a fight near the Frel hero placement. I went in to try to calm down the crowd before Frel decides to throw them in jail unfairly. I ended up sorting out the situation when Frel comes out and starts accusing the servants, beginning to judge them unfairly. I quickly stopped him, and I said I will take his servants for the right price. Frel agreed and said that I could have those useless bunch of slaves for free. This seemed to tick me off so much more, I really hated men like him. I took in the slaves to my father's hero placement so when I arrived with the slaves. My dad saw this and laughs at me as he could tell it was Frel this time that had made me mad because I will always in some way bring slaves here to the placement. I like that my dad and my mother as they seem to understand where I am coming from when it comes to this unfairnesses in society. My dad let the slaves in for now till he could put them in a better placement. I thanked him then went to sit down to have a quick break, which during that I texted Akuji and asked how she was going. She texted me back quite quickly and said that she was good, what about you she asked. I texted her back to say that I was alright even though I am still pissed at Frel. She responded with an okay, then I texted if she ever wanted meet again. She texted back sure maybe tomorrow, because I am working something with my team. I text back sure, just tell me when tomorrow and where and I will be there. She texted back, Okay I will later. Then the conversation ends, and I then continue to work for the rest of the day till I get home, rest, study, eat dinner then sleep. 

The next day I went to school, I attended some classes to take some exams. Morry came up to me, "I hear dad had given you a bunch of his slaves, that must have annoyed you" he says.

Morry has short blue hair with red s of hair at the ends of his hair. He is nicely dressed in school uniform and have a set of blue fake glasses which he wears cause usually to cover people from being attracted to him like a man cause a lot of people like him for his eyes that look as mean as his fathers. Which he dislikes because he hates his father and everything about him, he kind of hates that he looks like him, he also hates it cause his mother gets afraid of him because of that fact, which is also another reason he wears the fake glasses. 

"Oh yeah it kind of did but I played it cool as always" I say.

"Yeah, I get that, maybe we could do some fundraiser together after this?" Morry asks

"Yeah sure" I say as I nod a bit

Morry nods and goes to his seat to take the exams as well; I continue to do the rest of the exams that I needed to do. 

After that Morry and I went to do some fundraisers together, we talked about how we could eventually change society someday as we both agree that this society needs to have less hate in it. After a while I get a text and I get my phone to check it, it was Akuji she asked me when I would be able to talk today. 

Morry looks at me, "Who is that?" He questioned curious. 

"My dad" I lie as I respond her quickly, with maybe in the afternoon say after 3pm then I put away my phone.

Morry looked at me confused, "Is it something important?" He asks

"No, he was just wondering if I could get some shopping as I come home today" I say as I get another text, but I leave it for later knowing it is from Akuji. 

"Okay, it seems you and your dad get well with each other" Morry comments.

"Yeah, we do but not every family is perfect" I say as we continue to do the fundraisers. 

"Yeah true" Morry says as he also walks with.

For most of the time me sort of talk about different things, sometimes we walk in silence till we have something to talk about. 

After we finish the fundraisers together, I tell Morry that I am going home now, he nods and also leaves as well. I then check my phone reading Akuji text she sent me she said, Okay I will see you at the cafe by then. I nod and start going to the cafe as it was about 3pm now. Once I got there, I saw Akuji sitting at a table at the far side again, I go to sit with her. I sit down and order and pay for us, I look at her I could tell she was nervous.

"So, what do you want to talk about?" I ask

"I uh was wondering if there maybe any fake heroes that we can kill- like if there is any?" she asks a bit uncomfortable.

"Mm possibly, why?" I ask her

"Well, it would be good if we had some kind of knowledge around the world our placement and my Sensei wants to do that for us" she answers normally. 

I nod as I think about it a bit more, "Yeah I can give you a small list of some heroes" I say

"Really thank you" she says with a bit of a smile

"Though I don't agree with killing people or anyone so if you and your placement becomes evil because of that I will have to put you in jail" I say seriously.

"Fine enough with me, but I don't hope to kill every kind of hero just the ones who make a bad impact on our society plus we really don't have a choice here if we want to fix society and I do agree death is wrong, but somethings can't be help to improve something like our society" she says as she looks at me seriously. 

I nod a bit in agreement, "Alright then I will send you a small list later, but just promise you won't kill innocent people for no reason or anyone without a real cause other than changing our society" I say. 

"Okay, I can do my best, but if I do some wrong in your eyes then promise me you would put me into jail" she says as she stares at me with a smile.

"Alright promise" I say as I hold out my hand, she takes it and we shake on it. 

Again, we talk for a long while before I need to go home or leave. We say our goodbyes, I felt that I can trust her so fair, and she seems to trust me as well which is good. As I go home, I do some shopping cause, I thought why not since my dad probably would forget something and I have to get it. Once I got home put away the shopping and all, I get a file of some heroes then do up a list for Akuji. After I sent her the list, I started to head to bed for the next day.
