The forest

The breath of a wounded lion is far more atrocious than its roar.

The marks on it's body are the testimonies of it's prowess. Lion is lazy, it prefers to rest most of the time. But the entire forest shivers when a lion makes up it's mind to hunt. . . . that is basically what distinguished a king from the rest of the forest animals.

It doesn't trick, it does not camouflage, it doesn't stab behind the back. The only way it attacks is by focussing on it's prey. Once full, It never eats outside it's appetite. It's not greedy. It doesn't believe in irrational killing.

"Justice for all". . the most powerful and noble attribute that one harbours in the entire animal kingdom : is a lion. It's born to maintain harmony and balance of Nature. That's why lions have proclaimed their dominance in the jungle since the inception. They do not self declare it. The world gives it it's well -deserved title.  

 Once upon a time, an evergreen forest was vibrant with it's multiplicity and extent. It always reverberated with a variety of species. All the species were family. Nature chose to give it a leader. Thus a lion was born. Animals were pretty happy under the supervision of their king. However, being born to the royalty, life was not easy. It lost it's mother and was forced to remain hungry as father became sick and traumatized for the absence of the queen. It learnt hunting on it's own. It learnt the lessons of survival the hard way. Scars and wounds all over it's body stated it's success. It grew up. A lioness fell in love with it. The lioness used to shower praises and hunted animals for her master. She thought if I can do this, I am more powerful. She became power hungry. She wanted the throne. Love disappeared. She wanted to be the lady of the forest. So she got a fox as it's friend. Friends of the fox got assurance.

They had meetings behind the lion's back. Animals had random meets. They started questioning the worth of the lion. They highlighted the laziness and injury. The lion didn't utter a word. The wicked fox spread all sorts of rumours against the lion. The lion knew everything. It didn't utter a word.

One unfortunate day, a calamity hit the forest. There was forest fire. The king stayed. It rescued most of the animals as it's nature. The lioness was in danger. At one side, there was the vixen and at the other side stood the lioness looking like a destitute. They were standing on the other side of the cracked surface. The fire was spreading fast. The lion had to take a decision. It chose to rescue the vixen. It pushed a log and the fox family got saved. They really regretted their previous decision to dethrone the lion doubting his caliber.

The lioness asked before breathing her last. .

Was she that wicked?

The fox is cunning by nature. It's a Nature given attribute. But lion is not born for it's meanness. That's why the family is called a pride. One who deviates the rule can no longer be accepted as the part of the pride. Nature selects it as an 'unfit' for ruling the forest. Had you asked me to hand over the power I would have given it to you my lady. But you conspired. You've been doubtful. You never loved.

Being chocked by the pollution and burnt by the excruciating heat the lioness breathed it's last. The animals who survived made another kingdom and started a new life far away from the old one. When the ruler believes in truth, justice and love everything falls in place. The forest soon thrived with life.

But that was not the end. The lion couldn't even take a step further without it's wife as it truely truely loved her. The clan was incomplete without her.Everyone cried including the king.She possessed an extremely precious thing which was the lion's heart. He rushed back to his old kingdom to discover the fire was put off by the rain.The lioness was brutally injured  but was alive. He sprang to the other side and saved her lady love. He already got to know that it was all a lie. Some animals were too jealous of both. The king was ashamed and cuddled his wife and declares her as the queen.The very next year they had cute and healthy cubs playing around and every one in the kingdom was enjoying the beautiful sight.
