Happy And Contented
Happy And Contented
Nostalgic memories of a childhood spent
Splashing in the water, playing in the rain,
Without a care in the world, I went
To school, playground, and home again.
Looking back, not a moment I repent,
As sport and achievement went hand in hand
Bringing with it true success and land,
A spouse so dear and children a handful
Making my home complete and cheerful.
Past may be history, but memories remain
Cherished and golden now and beyond.
Now is what matters, indeed I know,
Guiding my children by action, I do show
That caring for others makes our world better,
And hope whatever I do, they will follow.
I do not know what the future holds,
But that does not worry me in the least,
As I am in the present doing my best,
And content in leaving to God the rest.
