The Call Of The Nation
The Call Of The Nation
They were ready, waiting to be picked up
To be taken to a destination only they knew
To defend their country against the enemy Nation
Who sneak their decoys into our stations
A red alert was sounded, an emergency declared
All the forces ready and all set in full gear
Some on land, some in water, some more in air
Some waiting expectantly to take charge anywhere
Their spirit of Nationalism, their love for their country
Took precedence over mundane affairs of the sundry
They were a picture of pride and passion and perseverance
The personification of deference, devotion and diligence
They were on duty, taking orders from their captains
Not batting an eyelid, they forged ahead with determination
Stepping on mines or taking a shot,
Caught in explosions and other kinds of blasts
With might, vigour and valour
they faced stiff retribution
For they pledged their lives to defend their Mother Nation
Some were wounded, some crippled and some disfigured
Some lost in the wilderness while many of them perished
The brave Soldier, the valiant Captain and the gallant General
All fought till their last breath
To save their motherland ennoble
They came, they saw and they conquered
The Martyrs, who braved all hurdles and barriers affronted
They came home wrapped in country's Honour
The National Flag of loyalty, allegiance and patriotic fervour.
Saffron for strength and courage
White for peace and truth
Green for growth and auspiciousness
They are immortal, the country can't forget them anyway
For every living second of ours
We need to thank them every day
Their commitment and sacrifice a reminder to pray
For their spirits to soar higher and higher by the Day.
