A Different Key
A Different Key
They blamed her for everything,
Breaking a home, leaving him alone,
The story within the four walls,
None of them had known.
She was the one tormented,
No one dared to see,
Coz she was well-fed, clothed,
But to choose, she was not free.
Her identity changed to suit their need,
She was a mother, a wife
But nothing more she could be, coz
Their demands dictated her life.
The home was already broken,
Silences running in the walls deep,
Yes, she wasn’t tortured physically,
But the scars of being nobody ran very deep.
She chose thus freedom,
A name for herself, somebody to be
No, she did not leave the home,
She just chose a different key.
