Acid Attack.

She was beautiful,

She was cool,

Like everyone else,

She also studied in a school.

She had received 

A lot of proposals

But for her dreams,

She had rejected them all.

But a night,

Changed things,

Sorrow in her life,

It did bring.

She was walking 

By a lane, all alone,

While talking 

over the phone.

Suddenly, 

Someone called her

And back she turned

Not knowing her face,

Will be burned.

Just as she turned,

Something was splashed

On her face

Which snatched 

her face’s grace.

 

She screamed in terror

And everyone rushed towards her;

In her pain she realised,

HE didn’t spare her.

Rejection, HE hated to face,

Therefore HE threw acid on her face.

Then HE was taken to jail,

But within months 

HE returned on bail.

This destroyed her pride and integrity,

The scars left her face,

No longer pretty.

But more than physical pain,

She suffered mental pain.

Some showed her pity,

Some distanced themselves from her,

Her entire life had become,

A true nightmare.

In the end,

When she was all alone,

She decided to fight,

For working, learning

And earning was her right.

She worked hard, 

And earns today,

To feed her family,

Now, more than ever,

she lives happily.

But still today, 

she stares at herself, in the mirror,

Wondering how time had passed

And sighs to herself,

“If only I could erase the past ".
