Away From Myself

Lost in the maze of my own mind,

I search for a way to leave it behind,

To escape the thoughts that hold me down,

And find a place where peace can be found.

I wander aimlessly through the night,

With no sense of direction, no sight,

My mind is clouded with doubt and fear,

And my heart is heavy, burdened with tears.

I try to remember who I used to be,

But that person is lost somewhere in me,

And I'm afraid I'll never find my way,

Back to the person I was yesterday.

So I keep walking, hoping to find,

A way out of the darkness, a light to shine,

On the path that will lead me home,

To the place where I no longer roam.

But until then, I'll continue to stray,

Away from myself, further each day,

Hoping that someday I'll break free,

And be the person I was meant to be..!
