Remain In Past
Remain In Past
Death has shrouded my love
Buried it deep in this town's cold,
It flows around smothering my breath
I hear it in the sound of falling snow.
Night long laments of my soul
Echo in refuge of a hollowed haven,
Evenings spent praying to forbidden grace
But no star appeared to follow.
Of times that are buried under flowers,
The petals parched grow at every street
The town has dressed as mourning
Like a shadow wing that follows me.
Shameless in its span, the moonshine
Shines on two dead eyes, stealing glim
From what once was just as alive as
The night that shall go on ceaselessly.
I hear the moonlight sigh and whisper--
"Don't go digging up graves tonight"
(Whilst it rejoices the scenery of dark
Illuminating grey stone on cold arms.)
"My light falls on budding Red Flares
By the morrow, it will be a virtuous bloom,
Now is time to part with monochrome,"
(Then why do you shine on death's lair?)
"My law is to shine for those who will
To pass the night and travel beyond.
My light beams hope and assurance,
Heedless of those who can never return."
"The endless night has come to end
Unknown is the name of a dead man
What has become death is past now
Let the dead remain in past alone."
