The Divine Diwali
The Divine Diwali
The festival of lights as it is known,
The joy of sharing spreads love and happiness,
Mouth-watering sweets and crunchy snacks
Fills the aroma of the kitchen,
The entire town comes alive,
The mesmerizing lamps being lit up,
The country bleeds yellow.
Gram flour and rice being ground,
The talk about the savouries doing the rounds,
The vadas are fried in oil,
Mom bearing hardships and enjoying the toil.
The excitement for crackers knew no bounds,
The children enjoying their holidays,
Relatives and friends getting together,
The new clothes signify a new lease on life.
The colourful sight of the patterns of crackers,
The special movies being aired,
The aura due to the well-lit diyas and lanterns,
The hustle and bustle while bursting the crackers,
The festival alleviates negative thoughts,
A stream of vigour and joy is prevalent.
