The Siesta
The Siesta
She stands alone there,
Up on the top....
Tired of another battle whole day long.
The mind numbed with pain and soul, from betrayals, still bled.
She sees the day at equinox, meet the night
And when the darkness engulfed peace.....
The palace shone like the only lamp in golden light,
Oh! so bright.
Chains of thoughts, each one a yard long
Crossed her mind, altogether back and forth,
Watching the darkness grow with every moment passing by.
She stood still and seemed so quiet
But none knew the turbulence going on within
That could bring anyone down to a plight.
She stood awake amidst the darker than the dark night
For she knew she was a princess so insomniac.
While the tranquility of the night and
The calmness of her mind
Were all downtrodden by the swords and blood
She still stands alone there
Up on the top
Tired of another battle whole day long.
When the ocean within her was under the turmoil
Besides dull and muffled was the world outside,
Another soldier appeared in the setting.
He was her devilish hero and her heroic devil.
He cuddled her by letting her slip into his arms.
His arms, softened pillow brought her comfort
The strong chest, her bed to put at ease,
and he by her side, a perfect quilt
To engulf and detach her from the worries outside.
She slept, slept for a while, in His arms relieved by him.
He slept, slept for a little less while, relieved by her.
After the untroubled siesta,
He woke up a little earlier to watch the serenity in her face
And thereby mustering up the courage
For his another battle of whole day long.
At the dawn, both lover warriors, armour clad,
Fondled each other and expressed....
‘I will await you in the evening once again
In our palace, at this place,
For relief, to cherish and to calm the pain.’
Unfurling from the warm embrace,
there they sat out once again
For their respective areas of The Battlefield
To survive and conquer
Another battle whole day long.
