Among the fiery souls of mankind existed a blue one, Aqua, as they called him.

Clear as a stream could be, his soul was one and his heart, half a gram of gold hiding beneath of the ‘rocks’ of his organs. But his purity wasn’t tasted by all, for the being couldn’t allow it; he wanted his true love to experience this elixir on her very lips. And as she drank him, drop by drop, she quelled not only the flames within, but also his life.

On this quest he was, wandering from village to village, searching for his one true soulmate, who’d treasure him to his very last drop. But what he didn’t know was that his very soulmate was on her way, too, towards him as the forces pushed them together.

Both of them continued their journey, in their ache to find the one. But give up, they didn’t; even if it took their very last ember and pearl, they’d sworn to walk; even if they fell, they’d crawl, and if crawl they couldn’t, they float in the rustic abyss, hoping to find the other.

As they pined for each other, it was almost as if the Gods above had heard their prayers. Their ache had swallowed itself as they stumbled upon each other. Gazes landed on each other, their fingers inching forwards as they yearned to feel the other, to get a taste of them.

A wave made its way onto Aqua’s lips as he felt sublime, his eyes roaming all over the long red curls that sat over her shoulders snugly. The one thing he richer thinks of was running his hands through the one and only evident tangle over her head, brushing it apart, as he unravelled her flames and set them alive. He was overcome with a love never known of, one that made him want to submit every inch of him to her, as she quenched her thirst and desire, pacifying the fire within.

Excitement peaked within them as their vessels went haywire and reached out for each other, craving a feather of a kiss, which they did.

Soon enough, their love was spreading like wildfire among the folks who loved a food gossip, but they couldn’t be bothered less; they had each the Rand was content, so much so that it could compromise for the rest of the world’s avarice and lust too.

But her fury knew no bounds, one that would lash out at every chance it got. And every time she did, she made chaos known, causing more damage than what could be cured. And as a mate, he was devoted to softening her colours to a softer, aesthetic one, calming be soul within. To do this, he knew of only on way: to offer his water to her.

And he did, but sadly, their love was cursed: every time she tasted him, he’d lose a wave, effectively making him weaker, and weak he did become; so weak that he couldn’t stand up on his two legs, yet, love consumed him as he readily offered himself to her.

She drank him, to his very last drop as she hid behind the flames of her anger, not realizing his diminishing existence, but as all have to come to an end, so did he.

The day came when he turned into the void, as every drop of his existence was wiped out by her fire, maddening her. And at that moment, her wrath unleashed as she brought down worlds with her, adding as fuel to the fire. It clearly didn’t settle well with her or the Gods. They couldn’t see her destroying their creation, ones they worked hard for. So, they cut her a deal.

They let her meet him if she agreed to follow him to the afterlife, and yearning for a release, she agreed. She agreed to follow him where he was reincarnated as the Ocean and her, as the Sun.

And as the story goes and is, the Sun and the Ocean move towards each other every day, slowly and painfully, and though not for long, momentarily, their quaint hearts brim with love, until they are pulled apart by the earthly forces
