What If...

What if there were no wars

And we could see God in every face.

What if there were no boundaries of land

And all of humanity was one unified race.

What if there was no crime or hate

And all was love and divine grace,

What if there was no inequality or injustice

And everything was even and fair,

What if there was no growing up and turning to vice

And we were all as innocent as God made …

Yet it is not so. Wherever we turn, there is agony and violence,

And all the values and goodness, seem to so fast fade.

What was God thinking of when he gave us instincts

That has overpowered His presence and love

What was His plan when he gave us powers to destroy

And distance ourselves from the heaven above …

A million queries run through the mind

And there seems nothing to do but go on with life with the trust

That the one who could plan this world and the universe beyond,

Knows how to bring us all back to his embrace before everything turns to dust …
