My Daughter... A Bundle Of Joy

My Daughter... A Bundle Of Joy

That summer morning, I was thrilled…

Plainly told, my imaginings rose to the sky

All was prepared and so was I.

To cuddle my little one, a bundle of joy.

Shower her with love, as we brought her home,

I swore my loyalty, to the stars above,

To watch her cherish, to watch her grow,

If she’d be whisper or hurricane, only time will know

But that was summer, all about bright rays,

Now the rain is pouring, for the first time in days.

I’m distraught, what had I done wrong?

The numbness was to last a season, but it has been so long.

Now I do all my chores alone, linger in my house like a soul about,

Everything is fine now, yet pieces of my heart are still fallen out

She’s a mischievous baby, with fascinating traits-

She has shown me how people can change their fates.

Someday, when she’s old enough, I’ll let her know,

How brave she was, and what she had to undergo.

She’s sleeping now, so I sit beside her,

How proud I am of my gorgeous little cancer survivor.
