The air was still not a leaf stirred the moon spread it’s blanket like the eagle spreads its wings to shelter the young ones from the harsh chill severe winter the teeth were chattering who’s hands numb cold and lifeless writhing in pain unable to bear the bitter weather bitter was he lay bare in the dark with not a soul to shield him comfortless as he was longing to be in the arms of his mother who as fate would have it was snatched away at birth could only look to the moon for comfort.  The moon beamed and shone to comfort the little one.    Light as a feather the lad tossed this way and that.         Little is known of his dad but one could hear the stars clouds and the trees mutter among themselves.

Poor child  An object of his father’s wrath who looked upon him as a curse and was rid of him  Who is to blame spake the stars.  The wretched lad lay still. Cheerless and motionless.               The moon descended gently as the night deepened whispered gently in his ears. It did seem soothing to his ears with his eyes tightly shut and ears wide open.   His tired limbs gave way as sleep took over him.   Dried leaves swept over him to provide him warmth. Eating berries and raw meat and talking the language of the birds living in a land where no human civilization existed Deep in thought he lay still watching the clear blue skies.   He heard the birds Twitter and butterflies flutter their colorful wings engaged in an enchanting dance..Richly attired in their flowing evening gowns he heard the butterflies animatedly whisper among themselves it is a ball you know. The dainty creatures swayed to and fro to the beat of the waves. They twisted and twirled and floated past. While one could hear the gentle breeze whistle like a lute the cockle shells clangour the bees hum softly. the leaves rustle the beetles wasps and grasshoppers fall in line. The spiders too spun their webs around. The daisies buttercups pansies roses and daffodils swayed along. One could see the queen of butterflies lead them on with their slender feet and dainty limbs. They twirled and twisted on their toes with their feet hardly on the ground. Who could the guest of hon our be one wondered. The pixies and elves on seeing them dance trooped in and did their bit.  It was a colorful spectacle to watch and left him spell bound. With the moon stars and the sky to shelter him he slept sound.

As he rose he could feel something soft snuggle  It pouted snorted and wiggled.   He could hear a shrill voice call out Porky    He turned around to see none.          Porky. Porky. Porky Jeered a voice.   He gazed for awhile. his eyes followed the direction of the voice.        A bird with a human voice.     I am Kiki the parrot. and this is Porky the pig he trudged along.

Kiki. Porky he said gleefully only too happy to hear his own voice.                  Kiki related tales of distant lands The lad longed for human company
